Thanks Jeff! I'm not exactly sure how it all comes together. This particular spot occupies about 1 acre. The surrounding area is similar and has lots of other stunning buttes and canyons with a similar sandstone texture. This one spot, however, appears as though it was sanded down and while still rough has a much more smooth texture than anywhere else I've explored in the area. Within a half mile or so the landscape is littered with rock formations that looks like corrugated cardboard or "box work" as is is called in a cave. They are HUGE and unlike anything I've ever seen before. There is a BLM video about the area but it doesn't say much about how it was formed https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=y8UsjSWXWLU

great capture of an interesting geologic feature....how does this happen....do you know? The curves really work to set this image apart from other landscapes. vt/fv
